Sensoterra, a Dutch company specializing in production of soil moisture sensors, introduces the Single Depth soil moisture sensor, a LoRaWAN enabled device that measures the volumetric water content of soils.

The Single Depth sensor comes with PBS housing and is available in a variety of depths, including 15cm, 30cm, 60cm and 90cm. The wireless sensor uses LoRaWAN network and is pre-provisioned on The Things Stack out-of-the-box, which means that it will connect to the network server automatically. The sensor is 100% maintenance free and lasts 5-8 years on the enclosed batteries. Soil moisture data is calibrated for 20+ soil types, for 99.5% accuracy.
The hourly soil moisture measurements can be accessed through the free Sensoterra Monitor app, or integrated into an existing or bespoke dashboard with the Open API.

For commercial deployments, Sensoterra offers end-to-end AES128 encryption for data security.

The Single Depth sensor is a low-cost, robust solution that will help you make highly informed decisions for your private or commercial soil use.
