## About

The Flathead Valley LoRaWAN Group intends to provide the area (Flathead Valley region of Montana, United States) with a free, long-range, low-power and community driven wireless network. This network will be used for Internet of Things devices, primarily so that scientists and the public can easily deploy wireless sensors for environmental data monitoring.

Flathead Lake Biological Station (a research station associated with the University of Montana) will deploy LoRaWAN gateways on and around Flathead lake, which are free for public use through The Things Network. We encourage the public to use this network, and to help contribute to the network by setting up your own gateway, or by offering up any prime mountain/hill top land (preferrably with internet access and power), so that we can install a gateway there to expand the network's coverage.

Please contact us if you'd like to help contribute to the network, if you have any feedback, or if you need help with anything!
