[On March 31st](https://ttnmapper.org/gateways/?gateway=eui-0000024b080606d8&startdate=2018-01-01&enddate=2024-07-06&gateways=on&lines=on&points=on), the gateway in the center of town failed, probably hit by lightning. Given that TTN no longer is a true community network, it's unlikely that the city will replace it.

Originally installed for a private network in May 2016, it's been connected to TTN [since September 2017](https://www.thethingsnetwork.org/community/haarlem/post/municipality-of-haarlems-gateway-connected-to-ttn). Hopefully it was of good use to some.

On the bright side, around July 2022 someone installed [a gateway named `skyhigh-haarlem`](https://ttnmapper.org/heatmap/gateway/?gateway=skyhigh-haarlem&network=NS_TTS_V3://ttn@000013) in the Haarlem [Cellnex radio tower](https://www.cellnex.com/nl-nl/sections/locaties/) (previously known as [the KPN-toren](https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/KPN-toren_%28Haarlem%29) and even PTT-toren). From [a visit in 2016](https://www.thethingsnetwork.org/community/haarlem/post/nice-range-from-95-meter-haarlem-radio-tower) we know that location has a great range. And [it surely does](https://ttnmapper.org/heatmap/gateway/?gateway=skyhigh-haarlem&network=NS_TTS_V3://ttn@000013).
