# Which packet forwarder runs best in Cologne

Hello Cologne community,

I'm pretty new to LoRaWAN Technology. I run an out-of-the-box TheThingsNetwork gateway and a SodaqOneGPS Tracker of the first generation using cayenne protocol. Everything works fine at home.

But if I go to other places my device/application seems not to transfer any data to any other gateway.

Is this due to a wrong registration of my device/gateway ? Does my device/application needs a gateway with special ttn packet forwarding or some explicit semtech udp compability?

Or is it due to a rarely used cayenne protocol that other gateways/broker do not transmit?

Or is this due to bad signal strength ?

Or are there no public gateways in Cologne?
