On November 10, 2020, the LoRa Alliance® announced the support for new Long Range – Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (LR-FHSS) data rates. The LR-FHSS data rates significantly increases network capacity and robustness to interference–opening the door to new deployment opportunities across the globe. One such opportunity is in space. LR-FHSS will play a significant role in providing a direct link from end-device to satellites, providing worldwide LoRaWAN network coverage and roaming, and connecting vast remote areas around the globe.
In this interview, Mr. Lu will answer questions about the new LR-FHSS data rates and its use for satellite IoT services.
