In this talk, Adam Sobol the founder and CEO of CareBand, will share how LoRaWAN and edge computing is transforming the lives of, and the care for, people living with dementia. There is a massive opportunity to utilize LoRaWAN’s capabilities to drive behavior and activity insights to keep people safer and healthier for longer. Existing solutions are costly and limited by access to WiFi and cellular signals, paving the way for LoRaWAN to extend care.
CareBand’s easy-to-use LoRaWAN-based wearable tracks real-time indoor & outdoor location, monitors acute changes in health condition and incorporates social determinants of health into meaningful health technology design. CareBand’s dedication to understanding the social and behavioral experience of dementia allows older adults to live safely, remain independent, and avoid unnecessary hospitalizations. Between the cost-saving potential to the healthcare system and individuals affected by dementia, CareBand’s potential is limitless.
