LoRaWAN Smart Valves

LoRaWAN smart valve devices let you remotely actuate and monitor valves for water, gas, and irrigation systems over long-range, low-power networks.

Smart valve devices add remote actuation and feedback to fluid and gas control. Rather than only measuring a value, these LoRaWAN devices receive downlink commands to open, close, or position a valve, then report the resulting state, position, and frequently companion data such as flow, pressure, or battery level.

A LoRaWAN smart valve pairs a motorized or solenoid valve with a radio module. Commands travel from the network server as downlinks; the device executes them and confirms status in its next uplink, encoded by a payload codec your application decodes. This command-and-confirm model suits long-range, low-power deployments where wiring is impractical.

Typical uses include:

  • Leak protection and remote water shutoff in buildings
  • Smart irrigation and agricultural water management
  • District heating, gas, and utility metering control

When comparing devices, check actuation type and torque, manual override, supported frequency plans, enclosure (IP) rating, power source and battery life under your duty cycle, downlink confirmation behavior, and the availability of a documented payload codec for your platform.
