should I mount the antenna directly on an outdoor enclosure or it should be separate from the enclosure ?

that depends…
antenna should if possible be 360 degrees ‘free’
so better to put it on a pole then against a concrete wall
also if you have 3g/4g modem inside the same enclosure make sure there is some space between the different antennas.
would a polycarbonate enclosure be better suited than an aluminium enclosure to avoid interference ?
