Hi,

Is it possible to connect the things node to another network than TTN?

In short: Yes.

Slightly longer: you will have to either provide the other network with the DevEUI and get an AppEUI and AppKEY or override the DevEUI if they provide all three. Under the hood the things node uses an RN2483/RN2903 which is a generic LoRaWAN module from Microchip. Not TTN specific.
