Getting Momentum with your TTN roll-out

(Tom Zorde) #1

Metcalfe's law states that the value of a network is proportional to the square of the number of connected nodes of the system.

To get your city over the early hurdles of getting 2, 4 or 16 nodes up, you need a team of dedicated people with a common purpose.

Perth Western Australia is a small city of 2 million people spread over about 10,000 km2 so it is not so easy to find enough people who understand. Perth is in Western Australia which leaves it as the most isolated city in the world (I think). W.A is 2,600,000 km2. Closest capital city is Adelaide only 2,130 km away.

To address the population/area/distance challenge I've kicked of the Perth IoT Communications Network project which is a social project using volunteers and sponsors.

You can follow us on https://twitter.com/TTN_Perth and hopefully you can learn from our triumphs & mistakes and copy anything you like to get momentum in your city.

Feel free to reach out and say hello too.
