Hi,
Using **TTN Community Edition** , the DevAddr assigned when using OTAA is consistent with the 0x000013 NetID used by TTN.
Using **TTN Open source** , the DevAddr assigned when using OTAA is consistent with the 0x000000 NetID used for experimental/private network. If we have a NetID, we can modify the Home NetID by using

> ns :
> net-id : ‘XXXXXX’

in the set up configuration files of the network server. Everythings works fine.

So, in the console, what is the purpose of this configuration: **MyDevice \> General Settings \> Join Settings \> Home NetID**?

Changing the value doesn’t work at all. We got confused with it, and it seems to have no effect to the DevAddr range assigned.
Thanks

The Home NetID option for a device is used for LoRaWAN roaming when the device is registered on a different LoRaWAN Network Server (LNS) and you need The Things Stack (TTS) to forward data to it via the backend interfaces.

The `--ns.net_id` flag option is the Home Net ID of your TTS cluster and that’s used to generate device addresses.
