Proposal for EU-433 frequency plan

I work with a RAK831 - 433MHz. all works well, but in downlink I get a confirm packet with a frequency from the 868MHz range because I can only setup a EU868 plan for gateway configuration.

Here is my proposal for an 433MHz plan, as a base (from RAK support) I give you a global_conf.json with 8 channels:

What are the values based on? Just a list you got from RAK support? Why these frequencies?

(I’m quite sure TTN could have easily created a “random” list of values within the frequency range themselves as well, so I’m quite sure TTN needs the reasoning to elect these frequencies? And given the formatting of the JSON, especially the sudden different approach between everything up to "tx_lut_11" and as of "tx_lut_12", this just feels like a quick Saturday morning list to me. But I’m no expert at all.)

According to IRE2030, which lists the available frequencies in the UK the range is 433.05Mhz to 434.79Mhz, so taking bandwidth into account, the min and max frequencies are outside of whats allowed in the UK.

Is not the rest of Europe the same ?

The first three frequencies 433.175, 433.375 and 433.575 are the three mandatory channels in the EU433 plan according to the LoRa Alliance (LoRaWAN Regional Specifications) so that seems OK.

We’re not planning to support EU433 officially. With V3, this will be much easier to do for private networks. In EU, on the public network, we stick to 863-870 MHz.

Maybe the above only applies to usage in Europe itself; some other countries might want to use EU443 as well, like Israel:

Hey all, would it be possible to set up a couple of uplink / downlink channels on the EU433 band in such a way they don’t exit the limited frequency range. Do I just simply fork the repository and submit a band proposal? I’m looking at setting up some 433 gateways.

With 868Mhz well established in Europe, why use 433Mhz ?

I live in Spain and Spanish legislation allows higher power on 433 and higher duty cycle, there also seems to be quite a lot of 433 hardware on the market and I am certain that some users like myself also have access to them. I am not suggesting a major network change but simply having the option of running 433.

To me, what you’re asking would be a major change. I’d fear things like Can Australian users agree on using a single frequency plan? for Europe, and would rather not support EU433 in Europe.
