TTN packet forwarder

Does TTN Packet Forwarder same as Gateway connector protocol?
Since TTN Packet Forwarder is put oh hold.

The gateway connector protocol is a transport protocol being used by the TTN packet forwarder. However the packet forwarder also implements communication with the Lora concentrator hardware and receiving and transmitting lora data. So the gateway connector protocol is (a small) part of the packet forwarder and it doesn’t replace it.

By the way the github readme provides links to replacement software which you can use.

Thank you for me information.
We have a gateway and want to connect with TTN with other protocol, instead of the legacy semtech packet forwarder. And I find the gateway connector protocol online.
Just want to know if this protocol still works with TTN. If yes, we might develop the communcation with TTN with that protocol.
Meanwhile, could you kindly share me the link of the “github readme”?

That is the information shown on https://github.com/TheThingsNetwork/packet_forwarder
MP forwarder (which I created) uses the gateway connector protocol if configured to do so. (It also supports the Semtech protocol)
