Which certificate to choose for Pi as BasicStation?

Hello,

I just set up a RPi as BasicStation but I got stuck on choosing the right certificate for further usage.

Coming from here:

https://www.thethingsnetwork.org/docs/gateways/certificates/

I got four dead ends :frowning:

  • Complete Certificate List β†’ file is not usable on my system
  • Minimal Certificate List β†’ There seems to be no file when trying to save file from the link
  • ISRG Root X1 β†’ Failed with TLS server certificate verification failed: The certificate is not correctly signed by the trusted CA
  • DST Root X3 β†’ Does work, but expires on 2021-03-17

Has anyone tried to run the BasicStation software an can explain what I’m doing wrong or which cert to use?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
try to concat the ISRG Root X1 and DST Root X3 into a single file. I assume the next time a new server certificate is issued for the endpoint it will be signed by ISRG Root X1. From what I understood is that Let’s Encrypt is changing their root ca certificate.
