The outdoor placement of the antenna will make a big difference. The antenna should be placed as high and as “free” as possible. I placed my antenna outside 3m above the roof. But the gateway is inside, connected by 10m low loss coaxial cable. If you use an antenna with 3dBd (5dBi) gain it compensates the loss of the cable.
