This should be an interesting panel discussion at the The Things Conference Asia Pacific 2019 in Adelaide on November 19th
Who is driving this bus? Who is driving your IoT programme? Get your tickets to hear Daniel Adams, Paul McManus - Co-founder and GM IoT Solutions, Meshed, Rhys Moult and Simon Blyth of the LX Group
Hear from Massimo Sacchi - Business Developer, Arduino AG, Jordan Hagan, Mohamed Khalil and Ben Thurgood - AWS
More and more low power AI capable devices are coming to market, and the prices are falling. There are good reasons to deploy edges, and good reasons not to. A hybrid solution is probably the answer.
As we all generate more and more data Dale Rankine’s presentation in the Smart Cities stream on the The integrated data landscape is highly relevant.
Dale is the CEO and co-founder of Reekoh and will be talking about how business technology leaders face an increasingly fragmented data landscape. In particular, the Internet of Things represents huge opportunities in data-driven situational awareness of business/customer operations.
If you want to gain a better understanding of LoraWan and TTN then Brian Danilko from Likeable Software in the Tech Stream has the answer.
Brian will present a tutorial on three, often misunderstood, areas of LoRAWAN, and shows the data traffic between nodes and gateways, to better understand the whole process. It covers the following areas:
the two methods of joining — and what keys are exchanged
the AU915 and AS923 data plans and how they work, and
Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT and the Public Sector experience
This is a presentation not to be missed. Ben Thurgood - Lead, Public Sector Solutions Architecture team, Amazon AU has a background in computer science and software engineering.
Ben brings over 20 years of experience, providing technical leadership in financial services, telcos, utilities, government, research institutions, and startups. He and his team advise Public Sector customers on how to achieve their desired business results using the breadth and depth of the AWS platform.
Make sure you don’t miss hearing Heath Rafterey from Newie Ventures talk in the Smart Cities stream In defence of things
The Internet of Things brings the dramatic potential of modern software to the sleepy world of Things. In the rush to animate the physical world around us, one unsuspecting element of that physical world often gets neglected: Things. This presentation draws upon a long history of service to Things – doors, houses, posters, fences, cars and even cows, cats and ultimately, humans. From this perspective it becomes clear that the Internet of Things time and again suffers from a lack of empathy with Things.
One week to go for the Asia Pacific Things Conference on Tour
The Workshop with Johan Stokking is now sold-out but tickets are still available for the Conference.
Additional speakers have been added to the Program (click here for details) which is being run in the “Smart Cities Stream” and the “Technical Stream”.
Educators are invited to join Jenny to explore ways in which The Things Network technology can be applied in educational settings to enhance teaching, learning and assessment experiences for learners. This interactive workshop will be conducted using the Conversation Café methodology. Come prepared with a beverage and ideas/insights to share!
Converting from initiative to business. A story from Microclimate Senstick
Come along to hear from Dr. Tomaž Šuklje - SenseEdge about the microclimate.network initiative.
The presentation focuses on sharing the experience, findings and vision of employing new business models to help IoT cases and community grow into businesses.
I will recount my experience of installing nodes and several gateways. I will suggest the Lora / IoT industry is relearning problems faced and solved by other industries years ago. Water, Corrosion, technology only suitable for Early Adopters and so on.
The presentation will then consider future developments required before this can be accomplished by a non-technical customer with a site visit.
Make a Diary entry to not miss next year’s event which will be held on the 14th of October 2020 at the Iconic Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, South Australia.
Would love to take a trip to the Land Of Oz … one day… (AU & NZ on bucket list), guess will have to start saving additional beer tokens vs spending so much on deploying LoRaWAN GW’s etc!
