Step One - getting hardware

• Raspberry Pi -->picked from the handicrafts box
• power supply -->picked from the handicrafts box
• LoRa gateway module RAK 831 --> purchased from my favorite chinese webshop
  

Step Two - setting up the hardware

• Raspberry Pi (2th Generation) with 8GB SDHC-Memory Card and 1A power supply
• Connecting with the RAK831 -->no problem (exept the issue with the RESET pin!)
  
  

Step Three - Setting up the software

• Installing raspbian jessie lite on the Raspberry Pi with Win32DiskImager using an 8GB SDHC-Card
  
• for the RAK831 I followed the instructions in this Tutorial
• pay attention to the RESET pin -->physical pin 22 means GPIO25!
  
• change it in /opt/ttn-gateway/bin/start.sh
  SX1301_RESET_BCM_PIN=25
  

Step Four - Register the gateway to the TTN

• Just followed the instructions at https://www.thethingsnetwork.org/docs/gateways/index.html
  

Step Five - Connecting the TTN-Gateway to Node Red

• followed the instructions at https://github.com/TheThingsNetwork/nodered-app-node/blob/master/docs/quickstart.md
