Hi Nick,
Im not sure it was successful but i managed to register the gateway on TTN using the Gateway EUI.
It also created 2 API Keys, LNS KEY and CUPS Key but i dont see any activity and it still shows as disconnected.

Register or Claim? The second one being the way of the TTIG
Hi, I tried these steps:
Open the ThingsStack Sandbox > Login
“Gateways” → “+ Register Gateway” → Here I entered the EUI Code → “Confirm” → In the next dialog: “Owner token” & “GatewayID” & Frequency Plan. The last step was “Claim gateway”…
The I did a reset of the TTIG → WLAN config → reboot…
There was no error-message.
I think this should be the right way, or?

But the LED of the TTIG is still blinking red/green. ![]()

The issue, as far as I can tell from the information that I have gleaned & repeated above, there is an issue with certificates that had to be worked around with an update to TTS.
This mostly worked, but the network did see ~2,000 gateways drop offline which have been coming back in small batches. We don’t know what the criteria are for a TTIG to be included in a batch. We appear to be back to the original number of gateways online before the update and we can see the graph step up over the last few days:
Personally I’d restart my TTIG each morning and cross my fingers. If it is still not online by the end of the week we can regroup to try to figure out how to collate numbers & collectively report issues.
I know this is mildly irritating to hear, but if you really need your data, then using TTN (Sandbox) isn’t the place to be. But if you do use TTN (and I do for community projects that are non-critical, like many others), then having a backup gateway just in case someone unplugs your first gateway (or snaps off its antenna or pours coffee over it or puts it in a metal rack or it gets taken, or, or …). A backup gateway should not be the same type & brand/model. Mine is one of my original Russian (!) concentrator cards on top of an Orange Pi with almost zero options for configuration so it just keeps on working (and I have a spare for that one as well).
my two pro’s went off-line yesterday 8-7 for the first time. Pretty annoying if youre made so dependant on a third party. With my own gateways i can hit myself and start solving it. ![]()
Hi,
unfortunately my TTIG is still offline. I’ve already unplugged it several times, even for a few hours, and I’ve also removed it and re-registered it. Unfortunately, to no avail.
It seems there are others here with the same problem. Is there any way to report this issue to the relevant developers?
Same problem as @mertens .
yes, same problem ![]()
Scroll/read up to see the details of the options.
I have two TTIG and both are still offline.
Same here, 8 TTIGs of which 3 are still offline, the other 5 came back online at various points last week, in line with the steps on the graph above.
Hi Justin, monitoring the local Bourne End & Cookham/Chiltern Hills Community coverage I had noticed your North M’head unit offline for a while - but it often dissapeared for times so assumed it was usual for you, esp as the Lacey Green RAK Smart Molem looked to be running fine. Having been patient waiting for recovery have you tried forcing the pace with the remainig 3 units and forced a power cycle - try that then give it another 24/48hrs to see if they come back.?! One of my units (over in Marlow) shows offline on community Map but is infact now back online (sees regular Join Reqs from a rogue Tektelik device in area - almost as good as deploying a canary node!) after a recent power cycle…..just waiting for coverage to update on map.
Hi Jeff, the three not working for me are smartmolen Wheatley (Oxfordshire), smartmolen High Salvington (Sussex) and smartmolen Labbus (Germany). I’ve advised the people in those places to restart them every couple of days.
I’ll wait for further news - the main concern from me is whether if I buy a new TTIG it will have the same problem from day 1 (the Wheatley one is only a few months old).
smartmolen Lacey Green is a Rak Wisgate Edge rather than TTIG so has worked throughout.
My personal TTIG in Maidenhead is one of the ones that failed for a couple of days and then recovered.
Thanks
Justin
