If you start with a factory fresh MultiTech gateway and only run the installer you will have only one packet forwarder running, the mp_pkt_fwd. If after installation you used the wizard to configure LoRaWAN settings might change things in a way that make two packet forwarders run. If that is the case you could run the installer again and hopefully that resolves the issue.
