I can now log in, but have to click on Things ID and enter the username and password there. In that case I don’t know what the login with credentials is used for.

The other login button is for other login purposes, not for logging in as TTN user but is not clear from that login page. IIRC that will possibly get removed (not knowing a timeframe).
What is bogging though is that one always gets asked for credentials again, and often asked to ‘Authorize’ again as well. Hopefully this will get fixed. Staying logged-in like V2 supports it (until you explicitly logout) is more practical.
