Connect ttn to the matrix

We’ve just started using the TTN network, and we’ve setup a few public gateways, built a few devices, and even got a few intergrations working, all with just reading the docs! :-). So hello everyone.

Has anyone connect TTN directly Matrix Chat network? https://matrix.org/. https://matrix.org/docs/develop

Maybe the TTN http integration can do it with some ninja foo?

Apparently you can send to a matrix room/person with something like.

we don’t think the TTN http intergration has enough power to retrieve a login access key

but maybe able to do something like the following (it we hotwire the access key into it).

curl -XPOST -d '{"msgtype":"m.text", "body":"Hello from 'TTN network'"}' "https://matrix.org/_matrix/client/r0/rooms/\!QaRABAkxDBNukDoCOY:matrix.org/send/m.room.message?access_token=MDAxO...blahblah"

matrix might be a great addition to TTN, because of it’s properties?

There isn’t such a facility, but that would then make for a massive complication in terms of supporting no end of different key retrieves - although you may be able to embed one in the http url or header options.

TTN v2, the one we are using, is feature frozen, so this sort of thing won’t be added. V3 has more work before other things can be considered.

But, and far more secure for you, there is nothing stopping you using HTTP to your own server which can then do what ever you want - extract the information you want to send and then call the Matrix API as you require.
