LGT-92, no GPS Data

Hi I am trying to get running a LGT-92 Node.
I have joined it to TTN but didn’t get GPS data.
I used this decoder:
https://www.dragino.com/downloads/index.php?dir=LGT_92/Decoder/
And I am getting this:

The Node is always blinking green, so think it is trying to get gps signal.
I put in for about 3 hours to the free air without any gps data…
Do you have an idea??

Hi aeq,
As the counter is 63, I assume the other uplinks were similar.
The alarm status is set, so the first uplink after that is supposed to have no location information.
Is the GPS antenna connected to the board?
Did you try a board reset?

Did you try to connect it to a PC to read out the serial port?
Sorry I can’t help any better. I have recently bought the LGT-92, too, but only a bad signal at home. Closer to a good gateway, it seems to work.

Is it outdoors with a clear view of the sky (satellites)?

That sounds like a key debugging step.

Always better to look earlier in the process than to stand at the end of a long series of steps all of which have to be in working order, and wonder why nothing is coming out.

I tried it indoor and outdoor, no chance.
I have debugged it and this came out:

Furthermore I flashed the firmware again, always the same.

I have another LGT-92 and this behaviour is a little bit different:

What is the problem with my first LGT-92…
Edit: I flashed the first Node back to Version 1.5.3 And the behaviour is always the same, Uplink Counter stays at 0 and no GPS Connect…Do you think I have to return it… ?

Aside: that log for the device that works fine, looks off too: RX on freq 0 Hz and no RX2 despite RX1 not receiving anything? (Also, the difference between, e.g., [14017] and [13819] is much larger than [15041] and [15013], but it’s SF12 vs SF7, maybe that explains that.)

Yes that is right. I do Not have a functional Gateway next to me.

so, I changed now the IDs from the second node. Now this node is online in TTN, but there is the same problem with the gps.
I tried some AT Commands, but nothing changed. Do you have a “rock solid” AT Command sample for the GPS configuration for germany?

For me it’s working without any change of gps configuration in Germany. I got firmware version: v1.6.5 (in things stack preselected device with version 1.6.4).

@aeq

See my post here about bad GPS of the LGT92

There are different hardware versions with different GPS receivers. What version do you have?

And did you try using the latest firmware 1.6.5?

I get good GPS reception when setting the GPS to always on (FTIME=0), but it drains the battery in a day.
