Lora SNR goes down

Hi,I have several Lora devices sending some data to my heltec Lora v3 node. Most of the time it works quite fine but from time to time I don‘t receive anything more from the node in the woods. Interestingly, this happens when the SNR from the other devices nearer the home goes down (see picture). I can resolve that issue by rebooting the receiver node and mostly it works again for a few days. But today, I can reboot the node, it receives data one time and then there is again nothing. Since I can resolve it by a reboot it is pretty sure that the receiver is the problem but do you know what exactly the problem might be and how to fix it? This is way beyond my knowledge of radio technology. Thank you.

Hi there @fapo!

This sounds like your are using Point-to-Point LoRa, am I right? This forum is only concerned with LoRaWAN (a protocol that just uses LoRa as a modulation). Your questions would be more fitting at for instance the repository of your radio drivers. However, I’ll give you a suspected head-start: see the following link for some info.

However, only file an issue on that repository if you use those drivers

If you think it is the receiver, perhaps replace the module to see if it is a hardware issue.

I suspect the question would be better suited on the Heltec website as most of the firmware these days doesn’t suffer from variable timescale bit-rot, when you get there you can provide a much more comprehensive amount of information - otherwise there will only be advanced guessing.

Please only respond here if you are using LoRaWAN.
