LPWAN Smart Phone Integration and Dongles

I looked around in the search but was unable to find anything relevant to what I’m looking for. Is anyone aware of any smart phone manufacturers that are working on implementing LoRaWAN or any LPWAN radio chips?

I’m sure we are still a few years out from that yet, so how about dongles for smart phones that would allow them to communicate with a gateway without using Wi-Fi?

I’ve found these USB dongles that would work with a laptop, but nothing for phones. Could you rig something up that could interface one of these for a smart phone?

I can imagine a little flat card in your wallet that holds a small BT and LoRaWAN chip combi… together with an app that could work… on one side of the LoRacard is a mini solar panel to charge … :sunglasses:

Yes! Like the solar-powered calculators! That would be much simpler than having to deal with some bulky dongle.
