if I do need to send downlink messages to an end node, can I send a command to a URL address?

The http integration allows you to schedule downlinks using http.

(I bought a valve that comes with its own platform. We are trying to integrate that platform’s API (in HTTP) to TTN, so that we can operate open/close of the valve from TTN)

This confuses me. You have hardware with its own platform? How does that relate to TTN? Does the hardware use LoRaWAN?
