The Things Node: Accelerometer's Sensitivity

Hi Forum-Colleges,

I’m building a show case using the Things Node accelerometer and TTN. We wanted to register if our parking gates of our company stay (unwanted) open after some period of time. Apparently, the gate’s movement are too smooth that the sensor do not get activated. Does anyone know if Is there any way to increase the sensor’s sensitivity?

better use a switch for that 1= open 0= close connected to a node
an accelerometer is not suitable for this use case.
