Ttnctl hangs on "Discovering handler"

Using an old login which has been idle for some time.

Installed a new version of ttnctl on MacOS.

Can log in to my account OK

Was able to list and select applcations OK

Cannot list devices.

  ttnctl devices list
  INFO Using Application AppEUI=70B3D57EF00033A4 AppID=test_dragino_shield
  INFO Discovering Handler... Handler=ttn-handler-eu

after which it hangs.

I think there is something amiss with this old account but not sure how to proceed.

Thx for any suggestions

Silly question, What is your ISP?

As one would expect, same thing on both my ISPs; Virgin and Plusnet.

For Virgin media I believe we found they block the port it uses. More discussion at TTN discovery server and VirginMedia

I haven’t heard anything about Plusnet blocking it though. One potential test which is what I use with virgin is to try a VPN if possible.

Thx @Ryanteck,
Actually my test on Plusnet was invalid. As you suggest, only virgin is blocking it.
This is why I have 2 ISPs and for many reasons I know which I should drop.
Maybe ttnctl should have a specific check for this kind of bad ISP behaviour?
e.g. “sorry, you’re ISP is blocking correct operation - get a new one”
