What do we need to build an IoT lab?

I would like to know if you have already thought what is necessary to be able to set up a laboratory of internet of things.
I think we have a lot of educators here on the forum and probably already needed to build a 3-area iot lab.

Development focused on projects with microcontrollers
Today I have this demand here at the university where I work to create an IoT lab focused on LPWan networks.
I would like to know your experience in creating a laboratory for the internet of things.
