Businesses in Calderdale are invited to apply to a UK government backed innovation programme that will provide participants with free LoRaWAN development hardware, a 2-day hands-on training course, ongoing support and showcasing opportunies. The inititive, known as Calderdale LPWAN Boost, is being operated under the auspices of the IoTUK Boost programme and is one of six that are being operated across the UK.

While initiatives operating as part of the IoTUK Boost elsewhere will use other LPWAN technologies such as Sigfox and private LoRaWAN networks, "Calderdale LPWAN Boost" will make use of The Things Network. As part of the initiative additional gateways are also being rolled out and connected to TTN, including one in Halifax town centre. With coverage mapping planned also.

Businesses and entrepeneurs that can apply to participate via the Things Calderdale website.

Please note that the closing date for applications is Wed 1st March 2017.

Calderdale LPWAN Boost is operated by AB Open in partnership with the Digital Catapult as part of the IoTUK programme, RS Components, The Things Network and Calderdale Council.
