Thanks Nick. I do entirely understand it’s not LoRaWAN capable, but as I mentioned, I’m not wanting to do that at all. Just a ‘personal’, entirely in-home gateway to switch the very expensive Milesight plug on and off! I’ve read quite a few articles about the device - most are disparaging as to its ultimate use! Oh, and I only paid about $50 for it. I don’t see ‘real’ gateways around that price?
This forum is for LoRaWAN on TTN/TTI that is funded by TTI so we don’t do LoRa point 2 point.
I have no idea what you paid for it, I can only see what it sells for, so a poor comparison, but you should look harder. I’ve sourced new gateways for £20 and there are plenty of old Helium gateways going cheap that can be repurposed.
And if the Milesight is so expensive, why not spend a little more to do the job properly?
Additionally, you only get to turn it on & off 5 times a day on TTN due to the Fair Use Policy. So it may be better to sell it and use a different system.
Or get another Milesight device and reverse engineer their D2D protocol to implement on the Duinotech.
Thanks Nick. Yes, I can understand that the forum is for LoRaWAN and this isn’t! It was a thought that I’d be able to make use of the relatively expensive Milesight plug rather than have it sitting in a box. I guess I’m wrong! I’ve plenty of local wifi operated (Tasmota) plugs around the house that work extremely well, so I certainly wouldn’t want to ‘change systems’. I’ll crack on - and sell the Milesight if I can’t work it out and solve the problem. I had just hoped that someone who had previously achieved something along these lines may have been able to help? A forlorn hope, obviously!! Thanks again
Oh, and no - I won’t be buying any more Milsight devices, thanks! Way too expensive for my personal needs!!
