Deleted (test)gateway still visible

Hello TTN team,

I accidentally registered my first gateway with an ID that I don’t want to use anymore.
I deleted the gateway in the Console and registered a new one with a different ID.

However, the old gateway (with ID “04f41cffff0b30d4”) is still visible on the TTN map as “offline”, even though it never forwarded any user traffic (only status messages).

Would it be possible to remove this old entry from the map/database, since it was just a test registration?

Thanks a lot for your support!

Thomas

Inactive gateways will automatically disappear after some time. How long ago did you delete it?

Hi, I deleted my gateway with ID ‘04f41cffff0b30d4’ about 36 hours ago. Since then, it has unfortunately only been displayed as inactive. My re-registration was already visible after 2-3 hours.

I’m just concerned because I read somewhere that deleted gateways are only removed from the public TTN map after months or years. If that’s the case, could an admin perhaps manually delete my failed attempt?

How many people do you think TTN would need to employ to manually clean up all mistakes made by 250.000+ registered developers?

The automated cleaning processes will take care of it in a couple of days. It certainly won’t take years.
