New: Kroonos gateway, relay & mapping

Hi folks,

I am happy to announce that today is the launch day of Kroonos’ catalogue, my side business that is getting more and more serious. Five years ago I started development of the LoRaWAN drivers in RadioLib; three years ago I started building my first to-be-product, namely everyone’s favourite device here on TTN: a tracker/mapper. And then I got to work on LoRaWAN Relay and an MCU-based gateway. And then it took a looong time to prepare everything for actual sale

So what we launch today at https://www.kroonos.tech/ :

  • LoRangeExtender: our Relay (and a corresponding Evaluation kit). Extend coverage for end-devices in complex situations using a small battery-powered Relay; no backhaul needed.
  • LoRangeMaker: our gateway and by far the lowest-power one available on the market. With just 400mW (that is milliwatts), it beats any traditional Pi-based gateway by about 10 times. And even the GNSS edition runs on just 500mW.
  • LoRangeFinder: our tracker & field tester. It is the ideal middleground; with the built-in accelerometer and huge battery it is a set-and-forget tracker dropping into sleep mode while stationary and resuming at a useful rate while moving
  • .. and more

And finally, there’s the mapping website at https://mapping.kroonos.tech/. Stress-tested for the last three years by @Jeff-UK, me and some others using the LoRangeFinder, it has been heavily optimized to render hundreds of thousands of uplinks with millions of gateway receipts with ease. It comes with free options and paid options and quite a number of analysis options; with this setup I hope that I can keep this service running and maintained for a long, long time. The filtering system isn’t bug-free yet, feel free to notify in case of faults

Pre-orders for the shop are open now with the first orders shipping in four weeks. Specially for all TTN users (or visitors) from the EU, you can profit from free shipping during the pre-order phase with the coupon ttnisawesome, so the price you see is the price you pay. And when you order devices, you’ll get free credits for the mapping website too to get you started for a paid plan.

Have a nice summer (holiday) all!

Cheers,
Steven
