8 posts were split to a new topic: TTN Mapper alternatives
For clarity, this thread is about the future of the original TTN Mapper.
There is a thread here if you want to tell us about your offering:
i tryed to reach out the owner of ttnmapper several times …
no response … also in this thread , he never answered to all of you , since his initial post
think about it
@jpmeijers has posted five times in this thread - very easy to count.
This thread was only to gather feedback, not have a discussion.
Who he choses to respond to is entirely up to him.
5 times on 105 answers. easy to calc the response ratio…less that 5%…so almost nothing. benny is not totally wrong…
but dont mind. the audience already recognized that @descartes and other admins protect him at all cost.
we would NOT need this discussion if @jpmeijers would be much more responsive and more community driven!
Please reread the Code of Conduct of the forum.
Whether @jpmeijers responds to messages is up to him, even if it is inconvenient from your point of view.
I can imagine his interests shifted away from spending many thousands of dollars a year on providing a service which a lot of people take for granted and feel entitled to.
For those providing a replacement service, thank you. Keep in mind it will require significant resources when usage increases and you’ll need to spend significant time maintaining it because as you’ve seen from above discussion, people start depending on it. Starting it now and pulling the plug in a couple of months will result in very unhappy users.
I would like to thank @jpmeijers for providing the service for many many years, for putting al the effort and his hard earned money into it. I think other (former) users should be grateful as well and we as a community should stop deciding on how he spends his time and to which queries he does (not) respond.
Btw I think there are few people in this community that have a track record as good as @jpmeijers when it comes to providing for the community.
