We are happy to announce our participation to ttn this week. We have just installed our antena on the roof of our Lab.
Buy the component
For our gate way we have chosen to use the Seeduino start key that can be found here : https://www.seeedstudio.com/LoRa-LoRaWAN-Gateway-868MHz-Kit-with-Raspberry-Pi-3-p-2823.html
Then we have decided to by the SIRIO GP 868 Antenna found here : http://www.crtfrance.com/fr/-cellulaire-2g3g4g-lte/746-gp-868-c-sirio.html
After several hours of work (pass the cable, fix the antenna), and install the default software described on the Hackable Magazine #16, we have successfully done our first test OOTA connection (locally in our lab).
First Test out the Lab
To check if we can connect to our gateway outside the lab, we buy a HelTec ESP32 Lora module, and flash it with the skecth that we can found here.
Our first test (with this poor hardware) has demonstrated that we can connect (ABP mode) at 336m from the antenna... that let us some progress to do :-) !
