Create an application on TTN account

Before registering your devices, you must have an application on www.thethingsnetwork.org.

On your TTN account, you must have an AppEUI that correspond to the one you have received with your devices.

Remove the default Application EUI, which will not be used.

Click on "+add EUI" to add the value of AppEUI that you received from NKE Watteco when you ordered your devices.

The first bytes should be 70 B3 D5 ...

Register your THr device

On your TTN account, register your device.

Click on "Devices" and then "register device"

Write data that you received from NKE to register the device in OTAA mode :

- Device EUI of your THr

- App Key of your THr

Select in the list, the App EUI that you created in previous step

Now, your device is registered, but no frame has been yet received

Open your THr and switch on the device.

The enable button is just beside the disposable battery, and must be switched to the right position to enable the device.

The green light in front of the THr blinks for a few seconds during OTAA JOIN procedure.

When association to TTN is done, the green led switch off, and data are uplinked to your TTN account.

Add integration from TTN to Cayenne

On your TTN account, add an integration to Cayenne.

- Click on "Integrations"

- Click on "add integration"

Clic on "Cayenne"

Choose any Process ID and access key

Integration to Cayenne is done.

Configure your Cayenne account

Create an account on Cayenne web site : https://mydevices.com/

On your Cayenne account, choose "LoRa"

Select "NKE Watteco THr" in the list "The Things Network".

Only DevEUI of your device is required.

Click on "Add device"

The device is created but no data is yet received from your device.

In the default configuration, the device reports values each 8 hours.

In order to test uplinks, switch off, and then switch on the little enable button inside the device.
The device should uplink the first temperature value.

Wait a few minutes and the first humidity value should appear.

Create a project. Drag and drop your sensor to your project.

Customize your views on your dashboard, for example to view line chart historical.

After a few days...

The default uplink periodicity is 8h.

The periodicity can be reduced by using downlink configuration frames from your TTN account.

Configuration frames are described on NKE support web site : http://support.nke-watteco.com/thr/

Don't reduce excessively this periodicity, in order to preserve the disposable battery live time !

Add NKE Smart Plug

Add the Smart plug to your TTN account

Plug your Smart Plug in the wall, and plug an electric device on your Smart Plug.

OTAA JOIN procedure is going on, and void frames are uplinked from the Smart Plug to TTN

Add the Smart Plug to your Cayenne account

Your Smart Plug is added but no value is yet received

Wait a few minutes, and a payload containing power measurement should be uplinked by the Smart Plug (cf frame 4 below)

Values are now visible on your Cayenne account.

In its default configuration, the Smart Plug reports measures each hour.

Periodicity can be modified by sending downlink configuration frames from TTN to your Smart Plug.
