Charlottetown

We are working to create a citizen-driven sensor network in Charlottetown, enabling the collection of a variety of data from sensors spread across the city and managed by regular everyday people.

To start, we've called together a small Advisory Committee to work with the City of Charlottetown to establish a LoRaWAN gateway.

We're using the city of Amersfoort, Netherlands, and the Measure Your City effort there as a starting point. We held a helpful videoconference with organizers there to learn more about the spirit and technology of Measure Your City.

By way of getting started, we've ordered a The Things Network gateway; when it arrives, we'll launch an experiment in data-gathering to learn more about how we might proceed.
