Stara Zagora has its local hub and co-working space called ZaraLab with strong track record in IT training (150+ free events) and use of acquired IT skills to solve urban challenges. The hub accommodates 10+ companies and in fact 3 of them are Lab’s successful spin-outs. It has developed and implemented various projects to use innovative technologies for better urban environment (including establishment of an IoT local infrastructure, match-funded by our municipality).

The latest interest of ZaraLab their extensive LoraWAN knowledge. The hub is a regional representative of The Things Network

• Study successful use cases in all cities with operating LoraWAN IoT network
• Organise events for citizens and businesses to present these use-cases
• Collect and summarise feedback
• Organise series of hackatons to brainstorm urban innovative solutions to most common challenges (environment, waste, traffic, communication with administration, etc.)
• Come-out with most suitable and promising (and realistic) solutions
